Why is it important to know the computer specification before installing the os?

 

It is really really important to know the specs of your device before installing an OS.

Here is an example scenario.

You have a PC that has 1GB RAM and a NVIDIA Graphics Card.

Then you want to try out a Linux OS.

You installed that OS on your device.

The Computer is now unresponsive because that OS needs more than 4GBs of RAM and that OS is incompatible to NVIDIA Graphic Drivers.

This property also applies on installation of applications to your device.
